AIM CREATE

AIM Pixel

Make pixel art and animate it, in your browser.

You want to draw a character, an icon or a sprite for your game, pixel by pixel, and see it move. AIM Pixel has tools built for pixels, layers, frames and onion skin, and exports animated GIFs and PNG spritesheets. Free and with no account.

Free, no sign-up, no card.

What usually gets in the way

  • Image editors that blur

Smoothing muddies the edge of every pixel.

  • Animating is a mess

Without frames or onion skin, animating a sprite is guesswork.

  • Exporting for the game

Assembling the spritesheet by hand takes time.

How to do it, step by step

  1. Open AIM Pixel and create a canvas

Choose the size in pixels (16×16, 32×32 or whatever you need).

  2. Draw

Pencil, mirror pencil, paint bucket, line, shapes and dithering, with no smoothing.

  3. Animate

Add and duplicate frames and turn on onion skin to see the previous and next ones.

  4. Export

As an animated GIF or a PNG spritesheet ready for your game engine.
