What you can do with AIM Type
Points and curves, precisely
Edit every point and control point, draw new contours with the pen or start from shapes (circle, rectangle, star…), with guides and snapping to the grid or to other contours.
Contour operations
Union, intersect and exclude contours, cut them along a line, flip, mirror, rotate, align and reverse a contour's direction so the counters of your letters come out right.
Metrics you can see
Advance width, left and right side bearings for each glyph, ascender, descender, x-height and cap height, with their lines on the canvas. Change the units per em and everything scales at once.
Import SVG
Bring an SVG drawing into a glyph and it fits itself to the cap height, on the baseline. SVG fonts open like any other font.
Live preview
Type your own text and see it in your font exactly as it will be exported, at any size, while you keep drawing.
Export for web and desktop
TTF, OTF (OpenType with TrueType outlines), WOFF, WOFF2 and SVG font, with the family name, style, version and designer you set.
Your work, kept safe

AIM Type runs inside your browser: it opens and saves on your computer. Your files are never uploaded to a server and nobody else sees them.

AIM CREATE belongs to Biomag, a Spanish technology company since 1987. The website and accounts run on servers in the European Union.

Questions about AIM Type
Can I edit a font I already have?
Yes. Open TTF, OTF, WOFF, WOFF2 or SVG and edit its glyphs and metrics. Check the font's licence before you modify or distribute it.
What's the difference between exporting TTF and OTF?
Both are OpenType fonts with TrueType outlines: the file is the same and only the extension changes. WOFF and WOFF2 are the compressed versions for the web.
Does it keep kerning and OpenType features?
Not yet: AIM Type works with the outlines, the spacing of each glyph and the font's metrics. The original's kerning and substitution tables aren't kept on export.
Are my fonts uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser and is saved on your device.
